Senior Funeral Director Lorna from Woking Funeral Service wanted to share this wonderful story.
“While clearing out my parents’ home after my mum passed away in May I came across her beautiful collection of Royal Doulton and Royal Worcester ‘pretty lady’ figurines. She loved them, and I thought a perfect way to honour her would be to donate them to Greenview Hall, a nursing home in West End, where my parents lived for many years.
The residents and staff were absolutely thrilled! Some of the figurines even have names like Sheila (my mum’s name) and Helen, and they’re going to try and match them to the residents with the same names. I know my mum would’ve loved this.
Here’s a photo of Kim from Greenview with some of the figurines. It was quite emotional dropping them off, but I’m so happy they’ll bring joy to others.”
